Nigeria: Pray for Esther who managed to escape from Boko Haram

Esther* was among the girls abducted by Boko Haram from the Chibok State Secondary School, Nigeria, in April 2014. Open Doors recently learned that she is also one among 47 girls who have since managed to escape.

After the horrific ordeal of being held by Boko Haram, Esther was sent to an internally displaced people’s camp in Yola for her own safety. In the meantime, her family had to flee to Cameroon after incessant attacks from Boko Haram and Esther remains separated from them.

An elderly lady in Jos, Nigeria, heard about Esther and took her in. Although Esther is thankful for the roof over her head, tears flowed down her cheeks as she spoke to Open Doors about her longing to be reunited with her family and the hardship she is experiencing at the moment. She feels totally abandoned.

Please pray for Esther and her family. Also pray for wisdom for Open Doors as we look at ways to support her.

Thank you for praying!
