PERSECUTION SUNDAY

What is Persecution Sunday?

Persecution Sunday (PS) is a prayer movement for persecuted Christians. It’s an event held in and by the local church. Someone from the church registers on the website and becomes the organiser for PS. This person will have access to the organiser’s exclusive page with support material for the event.

How to Participate?

First, ask your church leadership for permission to be a PS organiser. Then, register. To do this, you need to have the church’s details, such as address and zip code. Once the registration is approved, you will have access to the organiser’s exclusive page, with materials such as a PowerPoint presentation of the theme, videos, prayer cards and children’s material.

Why on this date?

The date varies from year to year, as it takes place on the Sunday after Pentecost. This is because Acts 4 marks the beginning of the persecution of Christians shortly after the descent of the Holy Spirit, with the arrest of Peter and John. Symbolically, then, it is stated that this was the “beginning” of the Persecuted Church.

Frequently asked questions

To participate in PS, it is necessary to have the approval of the church leadership in addition to everyone’s involvement. If you already have this in mind, you need to REGISTER as a PS organiser. Thus, we will begin a journey together and provide material and content so that you can take PS and the reality of the Persecuted Church to your church.

Just fill out the REGISTRATION form. Your information, as the organiser, will be required, as well as that of the church where you intend to hold PS. Check that the information is correct and up to date and complete your registration.

You can register your church at any time up to the event date, 15 June 2025.

All PS organisers will receive an explanatory email with a link to access the material digitally in the Partner Area on the website from March 2025.

Yes, you can. But you need to request a speaker well in advance (South Africa only). Contact us on Whatsapp at +27 066-387-1319 or send an email to [email protected] to request a visit.
