Iran: Imprisoned believers urgently need furlough from prison

Maryam Naghash Zargaran, who in 2013 was arrested on accusations of running a house church, is once again in urgent need of medical treatment. She suffers from a congenital heart condition, which has worsened over the past two weeks due to stressful prison conditions. In the past, when she was granted temporary leave from prison for treatment, she was forced to return before the treatment was completed.

Another believer, Ebrahim Firouzi, who was also arrested in 2013 on various charges, including promoting Christian Zionism and running online church services, was supposed to be released last year. But when new charges were brought against him, his prison sentence was extended to the year 2020. This news is very stressful for Ebrahim’s ailing mother who has cancer. Especially as Ebrahim’s request for special leave to visit her, because her health prohibits her from visiting him, has consistently been denied.
Please pray that officials will grant Maryam the complete medical treatment she needs and that Ebrahim will be granted leave to see his mother. May God strengthen them, as well as many other Iranian Christian prisoners, as they endure for the faith!
