With ongoing conflict, instability and the threat of violence in the Middle East, thousands have fled for their safety.
But a brave remnant chose to stay.
When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the golden image, King Nebuchadnezzar was furious. Even with the threat of a blazing furnace, they stood firm. In the same way, there are believers who remain faithful when it would be easier – and safer – to leave. And like the three in Daniel, they trust that God is able to deliver them from anything (Daniel 3:17).
In parts of the Middle East, such as in Syria, years of conflict have made safety, security, and livelihood daily concerns for the Body of Christ.
Understandably, many are leaving the region – but a few remain.
People like Elias*…
Elias and his family were in church when a suicide bomber attacked. 22 people were killed. Their lives were ripped apart. But bravely, they’ve now returned to church. Still faithful. Still following Jesus.
“We have no ambition but to remain faithful. If we are asked to give our lives, we will give them right away,” says Elias, who lost multiple family members in the 2025 attack.
From Syria to Yemen to Iran, Christians are choosing to stay and be beacons of light in the darkest and most dangerous places.
They depend on support from their global Church family.
You can strengthen people like Elias, Zaid and Setareh to stand firm against the storm of persecution.
