You are being called upon today…
Called by your persecuted family. To not forget them. To rise up alongside them. To raise your voice…To take action, wherever you are.
“We are not to simply bandage the wounds of victims beneath the wheels of injustice, we are to drive a spoke into the wheel itself.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Christians in sub-Saharan Africa ask you to stand with them, as one, against violent persecution.
Right now, a crisis is unfolding. Extremists have unleashed unprecedented violence on Christians in places like Nigeria, Burkina Faso and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Millions of believers have been driven from their homes and are struggling to survive in makeshift camps for internally displaced people.
Pastor Barnabas is one of them. He and his family have lived in a camp for nearly five years, and it’s hard to hold onto hope.
“Millions of Christians are displaced. But nobody talks about it,” says Pastor Barnabas. “We remain in darkness.”
Pastor Barnabas and other church leaders in Africa are asking the global community to break the silence on their plight and help stop the violence. You can amplify your impact by giving a gift today to provide relief and bring hope.
In refugee camps, conditions are squalid. Hunger is a serious, daily struggle. Men are forced to leave and look for food – but risk being attacked. Women and children are extremely vulnerable.
Will you help bring relief to displaced Christians?
Every R370 could provide emergency shelter to a displaced Christian.
Every R620 could supply a believer with food, clothing and medical care.
Every R1 330 could provide a month of education to a refugee child.
You can meet people’s most urgent needs. Pastor Barnabas says: “Hunger can make you lose confidence in God. Your help lets us know God has not forsaken us.”
Please stand with Barnabas and millions of other Christians. Your prayers and gifts help them to survive – and help them to know they are not alone.
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen…
To share your food with the hungry
And to provide the poor wanderer with shelter –
When you see the naked, to clothe them,
And not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” – Isaiah 58:6-7
