Simon Pierre and his West African church were used to persecution from their pagan neighbours–from crop destruction to legal action to murder attempts using spiritual rituals.

But when they were prevented from accessing the village’s closest water supply, the church needed help more than ever. That’s when you stepped in.

Because of your support, Open Doors was able to work with other local churches to dig a well for these persecuted Christians. But the story doesn’t end there.

Despite the bitter persecution they had endured, the Christians invited all the villagers to partake of the well. Immediately, a change in heart came over the village, and they wanted to know more about the Christian God. And today, the church continues to grow every week!

“Our fellow villagers can now see with their own eyes that the worldwide Body of Christ supports the Christian minority in their midst,” says Simon Pierre. “That’s why we can’t stop dancing today.”

It’s not just about the well, providing refreshing clean water to the people. You’re also bringing the living water of Jesus Christ to villages like this all over the world–even in places where faith costs the most.
