“I want to be like David who had faith in God and defeated Goliath.

Sele (13) from Nigeria never knew his dad, Solomon. He was two years old when his father was killed in 2011 for being a Christian. For some children in Sele’s village, the field around their house is as far as they will go, because there’s no extra money for school, but Sele dreams of making a difference in other people’s lives.

“One day, when I grow up, I want to be a doctor… I want to save lives and help people,” he shares. “I want to say thank you to the brothers and sisters who are helping me to pay my school fees. May God bless them.”

In 2020, we visited Sele to deliver a Christmas gift to him. We had called before visiting to ask his mum what he needed. She shyly admitted that they didn’t have any spare money to even think about new clothes. Sele had outgrown the clothes he had. We then gifted Sele with a new formal shirt, trousers, and an illustrated Bible. The joy and surprise in his eyes were priceless.

Here is a video of him receiving his gift:

You can continue to impact Sele’s life by sending him a message to encourage him in his faith and studies. You can send your message to [email protected] and we’ll make sure it gets to him.

Your prayers and support are changing Sele’s future for the better and we are so grateful for you.
