Faith in Action!

In the world we live in, we can easily get compassion fatigue from the flood of causes that come our way on a daily basis. There’s so much desperate need out there that we can get overwhelmed. Many people feel that if they’ve liked a page or shared a post, they’ve done their bit for humanity. It satisfies the conscience and creates awareness, yes, but does it give us a heart for the hurting?

James challenges us with the words:

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:17 (NIV)

Does this mean we all need to pack up everything and go live in a far-off country? No, not necessarily, unless God’s personally called you to.

Does this mean we are all called to have a heart for the hurting? Absolutely! We are all called to act in our own spaces – the unique areas that God has specifically put us in to be a light, in how we act and react, how we speak and how we live.

“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” – James 1:27 (NLT)

We are so grateful for the compassionate hearts of Open Doors supporters who have actively invested in the lives of our persecuted family across the continent and around the world while actively being a light in the places God has put them.

See how the active faith of our partners has helped persecuted Christians in sub-Saharan Africa.

So let’s ask… What can we do next?

With God’s strength and grace, we can become more proactive in our faith in our daily lives and in standing with our persecuted brothers and sisters.

Please consider donating today to support displaced believers in sub-Saharan Africa:

Every R410 could give emergency shelter to a Christian driven from their home.

Every R680 can sustain a displaced believer with food, clothing and medical care.

Every R1 470 could give a month of education to a displaced child, to give them a future.

*Any excess funds will be used to strengthen persecuted Christians where urgent help is needed.
