But it has never been easy; it has only gotten harder. Even before the Taliban returned, living as a Christian in Afghanistan has been unbearable. With the Taliban back, secret Christians are more vulnerable than ever.

Imagine you grew up as a Muslim, and one day, out of nowhere, you meet God in a dream. A bright figure draws you in, calls you by name, and says: “Follow Me.” You’ve heard that this happened to others, but never to people you knew. You’ve seen the angry mob stoning the woman who was accused of being a traitor to Islam in the streets. You knew that asking questions, pursuing this dream, and following that man had consequences…
