You brought relief aid to 10 000 homeless Christians

Marie is a 73-year-old Christian woman who had to flee her home in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) two years ago, when Islamic militants attacked her town. She shares:

“We were in the house when we heard noises outside. I left through the back door, and they got in through the front. They killed [my husband] and three others who were inside the house with us.”

Marie and her children and grandchildren now live in a small classroom, made of mud, and every morning they have to vacate the classroom, along with their belongings, until school ends for the day. Marie’s children often walk the city streets to find odd jobs, while even Marie, despite her age, does odd jobs to help the family survive.

But thanks to generous friends like you, Marie and her family are among the many internally displaced Christians receiving relief aid through Open Doors.

Marie was so grateful, saying: “Thank you! It will help me and my family very much…. I thank God for this gift, and may God bless you!”

Amazingly, Marie insisted on sharing the little she had with our Open Doors team that delivered this relief aid on your behalf. She prepared a pineapple so she could “bless” them with some of what the Lord provided through friends like you!

Your support helped provide much-needed food, and more, to around 10 000 internally displaced Christians like Marie in the DRC, to help them survive their harsh living conditions. Thank you for bringing them hope!
