Gift 11: Impact the next generation by giving them a safe space to grow
R240.00 – R1,060.00
Persecutors target Christian children and youth to prevent the next generation from building up the Church. This persecution prevents them from learning about their Christian faith at a formative time in their lives. That is why Open Doors invests in the future generation.
The persecution of children and youth is an attempt to hinder the growth of the Church as children and youth have the potential to revive and perpetuate the Church. At a point in their lives when identities are malleable and in the process of being formed, aiming to break down children and youth and their identity in Christ is a way to draw them away from their Christian faith.
That’s why we’re immensely grateful for your prayers and gifts, as it helps uplift and ground the next generation in their faith and be a light for Christ to those around them. It also helps develop resilience among children and youth when they endure persecution, which helps unite and empower the Church as they participate more in the Church.
“You’re ensuring that the Gospel survives in the most dangerous places to follow Jesus on the planet and thrives in the hearts of the next generation,” said Nicole, an Open Doors worker.
Through your gift today, you can impact the next generation by giving them a safe space to grow where they can attend Christian camps or receive an education to grow life and their faith.
R240 could provide two children with gifts and their families with a food package.
R460 could send four children or youth to a Christian camp.
R1 060 could help a Christian child receive an education.
**Disclaimer: Each gift from this calendar represents a contribution to a specific area of ministry. The gift amounts are examples of projects within larger packages.
