If they are living in strictly Islamic areas, Christian converts from Islam face strong pressure from their family, friends and neighbours to recant their Christian faith, though, conversion is not forbidden by law. Christians are discriminated against in both their private and business lives. Many Christian children have to attend Islamic lessons at public schools, due to a lack of Christian teachers. Persecution remains violent.
