More Chibok girls released; two imprisoned Sudanese men pardoned

You have stood with us in prayer for the release of the Chibok girls from Boko Haram, as well as the release of Abdumonem Abdumawla and Reverend Hassan Abduraheem Taour from prison in Sudan. In 2016, our prayers were answered when 21 Chibok girls were released by Boko Haram. And praise the Lord, our prayers have once again been answered!

On the 6th of May 2017, another 82 of the nearly 300 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in Chibok, northern Nigeria, were released. The girls were released in exchange for captured Boko Haram militants. This takes the total of released Chibok girls to 102 up to date!

In other good news, on the 11th of May 2017, Abdumonem Abdumawla and Reverend Hassan Abduraheem Taour from Sudan were granted a presidential pardon. They were arrested in December 2015 along with Kuwa Shamal Abazmam Kurri and Petr Jasek for supposedly aiding and abetting Petr Jasek in his alleged spying.

We praise the Lord for freeing the Chibok girls and for vindicating Abdumonem Abdumawla and Reverend Hassan Abduraheem Taour. And we thank you for your prayers – they are not in vain!
