The horrors of the war with Islamic State seem in the past. But the Church there isn’t forgotten, so I wanted to share the urgent update I’ve received from Pastor Edward in Syria.
Pastor Edward is so grateful to Open Doors’ supporters like you. You helped keep hope alive when Islamist extremists set out to eradicate the Church. The Church not only survived – it shone as a beacon of hope.
“You helped us bring the light of Christ to meet people’s needs,” said Pastor Edward. Thank you so much.
But their hope is fragile. The war may be over, but the threat of extremism remains. And without our ongoing support and prayer, Christians may lose hope and leave.
You can make hope last today, by strengthening the Church to be a Centre of Hope – when you give and pray.
- EVERY R205 could provide three children with their own Bible.
- EVERY R620 could supply vital food, winter clothing and blankets to a Christian in Syria this winter.
- EVERY R1 020 could provide much-needed trauma support and counselling to a believer attending a retreat.
Thank you for standing with the Church in Syria and Iraq through the hardest time.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14
