The militant movements in Somalia and Kenya are having a serious impact on Tanzania. For example, Tanzanian security forces arrested 10 suspected al-Shabaab militants during the raid of a mosque in April 2015. It should be noted that the population of the Zanzibar Archipelago is mainly Muslim, and many in the region think they are being purposely and systematically deprived of development opportunities by Tanzania’s central government. The inclusion of the sharia court provision in the constitution to be ratified by a referendum can only worsen the situation. The inclusion of the provision has already divided the nation and the former president, Jakaya Kikwete, has warned of the danger of religious tension in the country.
You can pray Isaiah 40:31:
“But those who trust in the Lord will receive new strength. They will fly as high as eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not grow weak.”
