Sy vrou, Nicaise Danielle Sayo, was saam met haar man toe die ontvoering plaasgevind het. \u201cHulle het ons opdrag gegee om te stop\u2026 Hul het hom uit [ons] motor gepluk en hom in hul motor, wat op pad was na Boy-Rabe (\u0149 area wat as \u0149 anti-Balaka vesting geag word), ingedwing,\u201d het sy aan die media vertel.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Sayo se ontvoering volg op die kortstondige ontvoering van \u0149 V.N. personeellid en \u0149 Franse noodleningswerker. Tatiana Yangeko, Minister Sayo se woordvoerder, het die ontvoering bevestig. Volgens haar het die ontvoerders die familie gekontak en dring hul aan op die vrylating van die anti-Blaka milit\u00eare bevelvoerder, Rodrigue Nagibona, ook bekend as Generaal Andjilo, wat vroe\u00ebr in Januarie deur V.N.-troepe arresteer is, in ruil vir Minister Sayo se vrylating.<\/p>\n<p>Geopende Deure-werkers in die Sentraal-Afrikaanse Republiek verduidelik dat die hoofrede vir die ontvoering van Minister Sayo, \u0149 poging is om Generaal Andjilo se vrylating te bewerk en om die komende nasionale rekonsiliasieforum van groepe in konflik, die burgerlike samelewing, en burgerlikes, wat sal plaasvind in Februarie, te saboteer. Seleka-magte het reeds vergaderings wat tot voorbereiding van die forum plaasgevind het in Bambari, Bria, Kaga-Bandoro, en Ndele, ontwrig. Volgens Geopende Deure-werkers het die feit dat Minister Sayo \u0149 Christen is en boonop \u0149 ondersteuner van die vredesproses, moontlik bygedra tot sy ontvoering.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Sayo en sy vrou is albei studente pastore by die FATEB (Facult\u00e9 de Theologie Evangelique de Bangui). Die Kerk het die ontvoering ten sterkste veroordeel.
